Five ways to save hours this tax season

10 April 2026 · 4 min read

Tax season is busy by nature, but a lot of the hours go to work that doesn't need a Chartered Accountant's judgement at all. Here is where the time usually goes, and how to save it.

1. Collect documents in one go

Send clients a single checklist instead of chasing files one at a time. Fewer rounds, fewer gaps.

2. Stop re-keying figures

Reading numbers off a PDF and typing them into a sheet is slow and error-prone. Let the documents be read for you, and spend the time checking instead of copying.

3. Compare regimes automatically

Running both regimes by hand doubles the work. Have them computed side by side and just pick the winner.

4. Catch double-counted TDS early

TDS shows up in Form 16, 26AS and AIS. Matching it by hand is fiddly; getting it matched for you avoids both errors and rework.

5. Review, don't rebuild

The goal is to spend your time on judgement: the regime call, the special cases, the advice. Not on data entry. That is the whole idea behind CA Helper: you upload, it calculates, and you review a finished computation. The hours that used to go into typing come back to you.

Ready when you are

Spend less of the season on data entry.
